Okay so by now you know I am crazy about skin care. If you are too, this is the perfect time to stock up on some favorites because Sephora is having their VIB sale now! VIB rouge can shop right now and get 20% everything. Then, from May 2nd through the 6th, Sephora VIB members should use “HEYVIB” at checkout to get 15 percent off their goods. And May 2nd is also the start of the sale for Beauty Insider members. (If you’re not yet an Insider, you can join Sephora Insider to get 10 percent off any purchase with the code “HEYINSIDER.”) I’ve gotten a few messages about what I plan on buying this year, so I thought I would share with you my haul — the things I’m planning on buying. Happy shopping everyone and may your skin be EXTRA glowy.
Day
This is a really good gentle and clean cleanser if you need one.
Vitamin C – Helps with everything from uneven skin tone to loss of firmness and elasticity. I use CE Ferulic Acid from SkinCeuticals but I also have this Vitamin C which is clean and have heard it’s amazing things about this one which is half the price of SkinCeuticals. This is a MUST if you get one thing make it vitamin C.
Jade Face Roller: I use this every morning after my Vitamin C. It helps to drain the lymphatic system, our body’s main major detoxification system. Jade is also known to reduce stress which pretty much everyone could use.
Radiance Serum: After rolling I put on this to add a little radiance and combat dark spots (I’m looking at you melasma). Vitamin C does both of those things too so this really strengthens your efforts and had really helped keep my post-pregnancy melasma at bay.
A clean moisturizer: I switch my moisturizers out all the time based on the time of year and let’s be real, what PR packages I’ve been sent but right now I using this which I purchased with my own money and will be purchasing again. It’s clean, great for dry skin and contains certified organic rosehip that helps combat fine lines and leaves skin super supple. Rosehip has reparative properties too so I sometimes put this (with a drop or two of this) on Gunnar’s eczema and it’s helping clear it up.
Sunscreen: I get this in the biggest available size and keep it by the front door so we all remember to put it on before we leave. I recommend this to everyone because a.) sunscreen is KEY to preventing premature aging and melanoma and b.) this one does NOT feel like sunscreen. It’s smooth, not sticky and provides long-term moisturization via hyaluronic acid that helps combat the skin dehydrating effects of sun exposure.
This is the gold standard for tinted moisturizers and it is SPF20 I love it. Also, THIS IS A FABULOUS sunscreen for your face every day and it has vitamin c so you can skip vitamin c if you get this. Double Vitamin C won’t hurt though. It’s not tinted though like the Laura Mercier.
Night
Retinol: If you don’t want to do it every day you can just use this once or twice a year. Once will probably be enough. You put on every day for 45 days and is strong enough that you don’t need to do it again for a year. I did this but I still use retinol once a week because retinol is basically GOLD. I also use this on my eyes once a week to combat wrinkles. This is an amazing budget retinol that is a cult favorite and Kaare uses it.
Night Fix: Not mandatory but if you want to get real fancy this smells like heaven has an anti-aging peptide, in sync the body’s circadian rhythm, supports natural repair for renewed skin vibrancy and actually improves sleep.
Genius Collagen: I’ve raved about this on Instagram Stories recently and stand by it. What is this? It’s an anti-aging formula that contains 13,000 microalgae oil beads naturally sourced and sustainably produced, omegas 3, 6, and 9, and a natural source of vitamin E that leaves skin more resilient, brighter, and youthful-looking. It’s a little pricey so I will definitly be stocking up during the sale.
Moisturizer: this is great for dewy skin and it is clean! You can use it day too just use SPF. It’s a very rich cream which is why I use it only at night. This is also a rich cream that I’ve tried and love. It’s not a clean formula at Sephora but it is free of A LOT of toxins and it is vegan!
De-Stress Spray: This helps you relax you and put you right to bed. No more tossing and turning trying to find another podcast to lull you into slumber. More restful sleep equals more of a healthy-looking, glowing complexion int he morning.
Once a week
Chemical exfoliant like Sunday Riley which is pricey but lasts FOREVER I am actually buying this right now because of the sale. Here’s the budget friendly version that I haven’t tried but the ingredients look the same. My skin is SUPER sensitive so I am sticking to Sunday Riley because it’s gentle.
Tanning mouse: I honestly almost forgot this gem because I don’t think of it immediately when I think of skincare, but I’d be a different person if I didn’t apply this 1-2x a week. A much paler, less defined, grumpier person. This is odorless, provides 72-hour hydration AND has the clean at Sephora seal of approval. I don’t want to live in a world where this doesn’t exist.
