I’m not a fan of the term anti-aging because being in my thirties has taught me that aging is actually a really wonderful thing. You give fewer F’s, life’s trials have made you immeasurably stronger (read: less sensitive Pisces) and you love yourself and others more now that ever. I’ll take a wrinkle or two for all those beneficial things any day! That being said, I do strive to look the best for my age that I possibly can and a huge part of that is diligent skincare. I’m pretty rigid about my skin care and it’s legit one of my favorite hobbies. My favorite ritual as of late is face masks. I love how indulgent using them feels and really am here for the immediate results you see after using them. Over the years I have tried dozens of different masks and keep coming back to these same four so obviously, I had to share them with you!
Glamglow Youth Mud: Everyone and their mom have tried this one, but I would be remiss not to add it to the list, because it’s a classic that really works and makes your skin feel clean, glowy, tight immediately after using it. I only wish they would clean up the ingredients.
Dr. Brandt Magnatight: This one absolutely works wonders! After applying it my makeup, which usually would look cakey/dry around my under eyes looks smooth! The reason? It’s loaded with silicones to give that instant, soft smoothness. As the name suggests, you use a magnet to remove this which makes for a super easy and sort of fun clean up process that is as novel as it is effective. Last April, some friends and I were getting ready for a wedding together and I got all of them hooked on this one after one use.
Sand and Sky Pink Clay Pore Refining Mask: This is by far my favorite mask, instantly shrinking my pores and leaving behind soft, supple skin. The thing that I most appreciate about this one is the results don’t seem to be temporary — that’s right I’ve noticed a cumulative effect using this and see my pores are actually getting tighter! The application process is luxurious too because it comes with a nice little spa-like brush to apply with. It feels so indulgent!
Formulary Sea Clay Body Mask: Designed to tone, treat, and tighten you’re going to want to put this stuff all over your chin and neck when it begins to be less taut like mine has. Damn you, gravity! I love using this under my chin, neck and on my chest. It helps remove impurities and pollutants so as an Angeleno who like to be outside, this stuff is life.
