Becoming a mom was very liberating for me and it did change my style as well as my post-baby fashion mentality. Maybe it was laying spread eagle in front of 12 doctors (I delivered at a teaching hospital so some of these kids were residents) and maybe it is just age, but I really DGAF (definition here if you need it) about many of the things that used to concern me. I thought motherhood would mean giving up the freedom of having personal style, but I was way wrong. Realistically, motherhood has enhanced my personal style by giving me more confidence and an overwhelming sense of purpose.
Now I wear whatever makes my days brighter and simpler. Yes, sometimes that is fabulous pumps (collective mom gasp). Why wear flats to dinner with the girls? When I’m with my kiddo, it’s comfy slacks, a machine-washable shirt and stylish flats (these leopard ones have been on repeat) that deliver practicality and a put-together look. Hashtag, win. *Read to the end to see how some of my most fashionable mom friends wear this top.
