The end of summer may be near, but I’m not one to let my favorite season of all go without a fight. Luckily for me living in LA, means I don’t have to fight that hard, but you know what I mean. For the rest of us, (and me as soon as it dips below 74°) it’s about time to add a few layers to the athleisure wardrobe so you can continue to reach all of your #fitspo your goals in style all while making very little effort.
A cropped puffer jacket. What else provides both 90’s nostalgia and warmth? Nothing. I love this one from Adidas. I’ve been adding it to my summer uniform as we transition to Fall.
Bike shorts. Honestly, nobody is more surprised than I am that bike shorts took this long to become a thing again. They’re my outfit of choice right now and I really couldn’t care less if they are out of vogue again tomorrow. It’s still hot out and I didn’t get a spray tan to hide it under leggings.
Comfy sweats. Let’s be real, if you plan to wear bike shorts into the chillier months you may need a pair of sweats for before and after your sweat sessions. My favorite sweats are from Aviator Nation (see here) and Outdoor Voices – they’re both perfect for layering and so ridiculously comfortable you may never want to wear anything else.
A sports bra that does everything. I don’t like to have an excess of merchandise in my closet (it stresses me out!) and sports bras tend to accumulate rather quickly. They’re small comparatively, so I can store a lot, but I do I take inventory and make donations of them frequently. One thing that I notice every time I sort through them is that versatile bras always make the cut over trendier ones. This one happens to be both versatile and cute, so it’s a keeper.
A cropped sweater. High-waisted everything means you can rock a cropped top with minimal skin read: no matter what season it is and what season you’re in! I love Everlane’s cropped crew neck sweatshirts one-size up for more of a relaxed fit.
Lightweight socks with serious warmth. I am obsessed with Bombas socks and have been ever since I stole Kaare’s in a moment of desperation and quickly got schooled in what I had been missing. They are super-moisture wicking (so your feet will never be wet and chilly) and they provide insane cushioning like a warm hug on your feet. The price I thought was a little steep at first (I mean, they’re socks, right?) but for every pair purchased, they donate a pair to the homeless and they are the best damn socks I’ve ever used. Honestly, they can have all my money.
