It’s been exactly a month since we moved from Silicon Valley to Santa Monica, and I can confidently proclaim I’m still ecstatic to be in LA. Someone once said, “Happiness is not a place,” but I’m guessing that person never experienced the continuous 78 degree days and vibrant ocean sunsets of SoCal. What’s not to love? I haven’t found out yet.
This past weekend we explored the Brentwood farmer’s market. And while it was light on ‘farmers’ and heavy on ‘market’, we were thrilled with its family-friendly location marked by multiple playgrounds. We stocked up on pressed juices and fresh tamales and made our way to the playgrounds where Harlowe ran around a track with some of her new friends. I think we have another runner in the family!
After the farmer’s market, we made our way to the Brentwood Country Mart. We wandered aroudn the shops and found an adorable bookstore. Harlowe found a book about the Berenstein Bears (love!) while I found picked up French Women Don’t Get Facelifts. I read Bringing Up Bebe shortly after Harlowe was born and gleaned a lot of valuable insight into the French parenting style, some of which we practice daily. I figured I could benefit just as much from adopting French women’s beauty regimens.
