This weekend my family and I took a short road trip to Santa Cruz. None of us are avid surfers (one of the 21-ish facts I posted on Instagram last week) but I just had to head to the water hoping I could get Harlowe to dip her feet in in the ocean. Disappointingly, the waves scared the bejeezus out of her. I didn’t force it as I can understand how a large crashing body of water can be frightening, but I hope this fear doesn’t last long!
I wore a perfect, breezy, black dress from an old favorite shop, Azalea. The Banker and I used to shop there when we lived in SF and now we shop online since our trips to Hayes Valley are far too infrequent. Side note: I realize I’ve never written about why I choose to call my husband ‘The Banker’. His name is Kaäre, which can be difficult to read. I mean, how many of you would read K-a-ä-r-e as “Cory?” I wouldn’t! While I’m proud of him, I don’t think banking is particularly interesting. (Read: I’m not trying to be pretentious.) It’s just easier to read ‘The Banker’ than Kaäre.
