What We Wore: Mother’s Day Weekend

I hope you all had a great Mother’s Day weekend with your little ones and/or mothers! I had the chance to do some prenatal yoga (thank you, KW!) and reflect on being a mother. It’s such a wonderful day to celebrate the women who helped make us who we are and the kids who continue to change us. Sharing a quote my adorably honest friend Samantha posted yesterday as it reminded me of some the blessings that only moms are fortunate enough to know.

“…I can hardly remember life before you both. I bet I smelled so clean, and always had freshly shaved legs, painted nails, and cute outfits instead of yoga pants. My food wasn’t being stolen by tiny hands, and your creeping eyes weren’t there to judge me as I used the restroom. Who told me “your breathe stinks!” at 5am? I bet I never wore poop or spit up as an accessory. Ahhhh yes, life must have been so incredibly boring…and restful…but definitely boring.”

The moments that are more stress than joy or the days that leave me extra tired and vulnerable are all worth it for the many, many wonderful memories I have already made with Harlowe.

Wanting to wear a ‘long, long dress all the way to the floor’ every. single. day.
Sweetly asking me to do pigtails or braids in her hair as I’m trying to rush us out of the house in the morning.
Laying in my bed and saying ‘Night night, don’t let the bed bugs bite!’ and then ‘Okay I won’t!’ when I say it back.

These little moments that we have practically everyday are what I am really grateful for.
