Did you know everyone ages at a different rate? I’m sure you have a friend or family member who seems to be aging backwards and while I know that’s not possible in this life, I like to try to make that friend ME. I’ve had my biological age tested before with a blood draw and it was super useful to find out all that I did, but it was expensive ($700) and the worst part was, I had to part with 6 vials of blood. I can do that every now and then, but coughing up that much money and blood for longevity research isn’t a regular thing for me. I was super happy when I came across Elysium Health’s at-home saliva test called Index which looks at 10 different aspects of aging through one simple saliva sample you mail in.
I can’t wait to get my results back so I know where my biological age is now and if what I am doing is actually helping me slow down the clock so I can live to see the kiddos be senior citizens. Seriously, I want to live as long as possible to see their lives unfold, so whatever I can do to make that possible, I am game for. When I get my results back, Index will show me all sorts of things I can take action on or pat myself on the back for like:
- Biological age: the age your body is expected to perform or function.
- Cumulative rate of aging: the pace at which your body has been aging.
- System age scores: the biological age of nine different systems, including brain, heart, metabolic, and immune, for deeper insights into how you’ve been aging.
- Science-backed recommendations: evidence-based lifestyle recommendations you can use to adopt healthier habits.
I seriously can’t wait to see. You can use code GETINDEX50 for $50 off until Apr 21, 2023 or use this link to get the discount automatically added.
While we’re on the topic of aging, let’s talk about lowering cortisol levels through RELAXING. Some new books I just discovered through Babbleboxx are Those Empty Eyes and On the Line. They are the perfect springtime/summertime binge books! If you’re a fan of dark, twisty novels or moody psychological suspense shows like “The Sinner” or “The Watcher” – you’ll absolutely love Those Empty Eyes by Charlie Donlea. I loved “The Sinner” personally and can’t wait to read this. According to the reviews I’ve read, it takes a searing look at our legal system so if you like law dramas, it might be worth a read too.
On The Line by Fern Michaels blends other favorites of mine, medical mystery and family drama. It’s set in Manhattan’s cutthroat culinary world and details the suspenseful danger of South American drug cartels, and the moving journey of refugees forced to start over in America.
Note: I’ve listed Amazon links for both books, but if you happen to be near a small, local bookstore, consider picking up books there instead.
Last but not least, I have to share these Wonderbelly antacids. Some of you may know I can get the worst upset stomach from eating certain types of wheat/gluten. I like these because they are
free from talc, dyes, artificial sweeteners, parabens and genetically modified ingredients.
They provide almost instant relief from heartburn, acid indigestion and upset stomach so I take them with me when I travel so I can feel more freedom to try things I want to experience and not be worried about feeling awful afterwards. If you ever have that issue, try these and I have a little promo to share you just text your receipt to 507-652-5235 to receive $5 back on your Wonderbelly purchase.
